Westwater Partners is a small, family-run investment company based in Vancouver. We put our own capital to work in established businesses across British Columbia and Western Canada — companies we can genuinely care about and own for the long term.

We are not a private equity firm. There is no fund to return, no exit clock, and no plan to restructure and resell. We buy good businesses, take care of the people in them, and make them better over time.

Preserve what works

A business that has run well for twenty years doesn't need fixing. We start by understanding why it works, and we protect that.

Take care of people

Employees and customers are the business. We keep the team, honour existing relationships, and earn trust before changing anything.

Improve thoughtfully

Over time we invest in the unglamorous things: marketing, systems, reporting, hiring. The goal is to help a good company become a stronger one, not a different one.

Own for decades, not quarters

We're building a permanent home for BC businesses, not a portfolio to flip.

What we look for

We're industry agnostic, with a preference for durable, unfashionable businesses.

  • Established and profitable — typically $300K–$750K+ of EBITDA, though we're open beyond that range for the right company
  • Durable demand — a product or service customers will still need in ten and twenty years
  • Repeat customers and long-standing relationships
  • A capable team that runs the business day to day, not just the owner
  • Based in BC or Western Canada

Co-founder — Growth, marketing and technology

Josh has spent 15+ years building and scaling businesses, with a focus on customer acquisition for subscription and ecommerce companies. He helped grow Fresh Prep from a few hundred customers to one of Western Canada's largest meal-kit companies, built and sold his own direct-to-consumer brand, and founded Hoppy Copy, a software company he grew from zero to seven figures in revenue.

At Westwater, Josh leads marketing, lead generation, systems and technology — the parts of a good business that are most often under-invested in.

Co-founder — Operations and management

Chris is a builder. He runs Listraor, a family-owned construction and development company that has built hundreds of townhomes across Vancouver with its own in-house crews, alongside a commercial construction business. He knows what it takes to manage trades, schedules, budgets and long-term customer relationships — and how a well-run operating business actually makes money.

At Westwater, Chris leads operations, management and the transition period after an acquisition, working directly with owners and their teams.
